Kevin Yosua is an accomplished jazz bass player from Indonesia. He has completed his master’s degree at the esteemed Prince Claus Conservatory. He has had the privilege of collaborating with numerous distinguished jazz musicians, including Alex Sipiagin, Dado Moroni, Jesse Davis, Joost van Schaik, and many others. Deeply rooted in the jazz tradition, Kevin’s artistry draws significant inspiration from the bebop and hard bop eras. 

Then, he created a new project called “Kevin Yosua Big 6” and released the very first album. ‘The Great Indonesian Songbook Vol. 1’ by Kevin Yosua Big 6 is a reinterpretation project that revives the timeless works of Indonesian music maestros (namely Ismail Marzuki, Iskandar, and Is Haryanto) wrapped in a modern jazz sextet arrangement. Kevin Yosua Big 6 consists of the prominent jazz contrabass player, Kevin Yosua, along with five other top-tier jazz musicians: Rio Manuel (piano), Hansen Arief (drums), Hairul Umam (tenor saxophone), Evan Sinaga (trombone), and Mariko Kondo (trumpet).

The album also features collaborations with vocalists across generations, including Tompi, Marini Nainggolan, Margie Segers, Nesia Ardi, Gracy Tamangendar, Natasya Elvira, and Mahanada Putra. For Jazz Gunung Bromo 2026, they will perform with Nesia Ardi, one of their collaborators and the vocalist of NonaRia.
